Request for 50,000 XPRT to Kickstart and Boost Incentivized Testnet Participation

Introduction

As part of our efforts to enhance BTC interoperability and strengthen the XPRT ecosystem, we propose allocating 50,000 XPRT from the community pool for an Incentivized Testnet.

This builds on the success of our earlier campaign, which achieved ~150K+ impressions on X (Twitter) and onboarded ~5,000 users organically through three phases of closed beta testing. With the upcoming launch of our BTC Interop solution (Persistence DEX V2) in late Q1 2025, this incentivized testnet will play a critical role in driving early adoption while continuing to improve the user experience for the upcoming mainnet.

Objectives

The incentivized testnet aims to:

  • Retain and grow community engagement.
  • Increase product awareness ahead of the mainnet launch of Persistence DEX V2.
  • Acquire new users through distribution efforts.
  • Promote daily participation through gamified tasks and challenges.
  • Gather broader feedback from users on the product before deploying on mainnet.

Proposed Incentive Structure

Participants will have to complete specific tasks, which will make them eligible for a part of the allocated rewards.

Importantly, everyone can participate, whether or not they have staked XPRT. While stakers will enjoy more benefits via reward multipliers (explained below), non-stakers can still earn meaningful rewards by actively engaging in the testnet, ensuring a fair and inclusive opportunity for all.

Proposed Idea For Tasks:

  1. Bridge to Rank
    a. Perform bridging transactions across the live networks: Base Sepolia, Bitlayer, and BEVM.
    b. New chains going live during the campaign will also be eligible.

  2. Daily Streak Challenge
    a. Maintain a daily streak by completing at least one transaction per day.
    b. Chain Specific Weekly Tasks eg, W1: Bridge to Bitlayer from Base, W2: Bridge from BEVM to Base.

  3. Social Engagement Tasks
    a. Complete activities like following us on X, joining community channels, and engaging in discussions.

  4. Chain-Specific Incentives (*if any): Potential additional incentives from destination chains post mainnet, such as BOB’s native reward token (Spice).

  5. Referral Program (TBD): Participants can refer others to join the testnet. A detailed referral system may extend to the mainnet launch.

Reward Multipliers for Staked XPRT

To reward loyal community members who have actively staked XPRT, we propose to introduce enhanced reward multipliers for participants who already hold a stake in the network:

  • Stake ≥ 1,000 XPRT: Eligible for a 2X multiplier.
  • Stake ≥ 5,000 XPRT: Eligible for a 5X multiplier.

This multiplier ensures that early supporters of the Persistence One ecosystem receive enhanced rewards during the incentivized testnet phase while ensuring some form of Sybil resistance.

Participants’ progress will be monitored and displayed on a leaderboard to encourage active engagement. Users can enhance their ranks by completing additional tasks, which might lead to better incentives during mainnet.

Post-Mainnet Incentive Distribution

We plan to distribute the 50,000 XPRT in rewards after the incentivized testnet campaign during early mainnet. We might enforce doing at least one mainnet transaction to unlock rewards.

Other ideas

  • Early access to key features of the mainnet product.
  • Transaction fee rebates for early mainnet participants.
  • Unlockable features for the top participants based on their XPRT holdings and interactions.

Marketing

We will extensively push through our distribution channels, with additional support from KOLs to further expand the Incentivized Testnet Campaign’s reach. This approach should help us onboard new community members who can actively contribute to testing and refining the product before going live on the mainnet.

All tasks will be presented through our existing front end, providing users with a seamless interface to participate in the campaign.

Community Feedback

We welcome community feedback on

  • The proposed incentive structure.
  • Additional ideas for gamified tasks or reward mechanisms.
  • Suggestions for enhancing community engagement and long-term participation.

I think this is a brilliant idea, I think I will participate to boost the network activity. As a staker I am fully invest in Persistence as I believe it will be a great game changer for BTC’s future.

This is great idea, full support from side. Having very good product, strong Team, the project just need to adopt more users.

I’m thinking if marketing Team as a one of the task could prepare nice one pager about the project or general crypto knowledge and give incentives to testnet participants for spreading them…

I can give some examples if thete is such need.

Looks like a solid proposal & a timely move too
An incentivized testnet will not only help iron out any remaining kinks but also get the community excited & engaged. Allocating resources like 50,000 XPRT for it sounds fair & shows clear intent to build momentum ahead of the launch.

Combining gamified tasks with opportunities for stakers + non-stakers alike is a great way to ensure broad participation too. Overall, I am in favor of this smart way to rewards activity and engagement, which should keep things dynamic throughout the campaign.

I think it is a good thing to incentivize the testnet, simply because it boosts participation. People tend to work a bit harder when there is money to be made.

I like the distribution after the testnet, when v2 went live. Maybe even some kind of vested structure to avoid an immediate dump?

Is there also some kind of bug-bounty program, stimulating people to find bugs and even proposing solutions? (something like finding the bug is XX% of the reward, in combination with a solution the full reward is given)

Do you also have KOL’s and such in mind to avoid fishing in the same pond in the Cosmos ecosystem, but also expanding outwards towards the targetted audience in the form of BTC-people?
